No, I do not think so. I think the original person modelling for the magazine should be potrayed as the way it was. If they were to photoshop it, the magazine would have been deceiving the public and no one would want to buy their products.
No, I do not think that it is ethical for the media to use photoshop to enhance the appearance of a person. By doing that, the media is showing the "fake appearance" of a person. It is not the real appearance person and people get tricked into buying products. When they find the products are actually not effective after they have bought it, they will only end up wasting money. Kwa Fang Yin (9) Class 1/3
No, I do not think that its is ethical for the media to use photoshop to enhance the person appereance. If they do this, they are just decieving the "consumers". If the "consumers" really bought the products which they are advertising, maybe it will not work, the "consumers" will than get angry and start to made the world go "crazy".
No, i do not think that it's ethical for the media to use photoshop to enhance the appearance of a person. People buy the magazines, just wanting to look as good as the model on the cover page. If they would to know that they had been deceived, they will not be buying the magazines again. As they knew that the picture was edited and the model was actually not as beautiful as appeared in the coverpage in person.
No way it is ethical! It is just making use of the consumer's trust. If every magazine is going to show outragously good-looking models through photoshop, sooner - or - later, nobody would buy the product, knowing that it is just technology doing all the work!
No,i do not think it is ethical for media to use photoshop to enhance of a person.By doing that, people would believe that just by buying the products ,they can look like the person in the magazine . But,if buyers were to find out that the model was actually photoshop, they would be angry that they were tricked or decieved by the advertisment .It will affect the name of that product and people will lose faith or will not believe in that product any more.
nat2 No, I do not think it is ethical for the media to use photoshop to enhance the appearance of a person. I think the original appearance of the person looks the best because that is the natural look of the person. If people buy their product and find that it is not effective, as the saying goes, 'once bitten twice shy'. No one will trust that company and magazine again. Honesty is the best policy Natasha Tan (15)
No, i do not think it is ethical for the media to use phothshop to enchance the appearance of a person.I think the magazine should use the natural and original look of the person. This will make people think that the company of the magazine is honest and trust the company. This will also allow people to know that in this world no one is perfect or flawless. No, i do not think so.If people buy the products they are advertising just because of their photoshop apperancewhen they use it is not as effective as the picture in the magazines then the people may lose confidence in the products and the rumors may spread on and on. If they see the flaws of the pictures, there may be bad critisism for the artists and thus, their reputation may not be so good. Nature is beauty! Ng Ling Xuan 1-3
No. It is because the media should portray the celebrity as he/she is, or it may trick the public into seeing the 'perfect' celebrity, and they might take extreme measures to be like their idol, for example, taking slimming pills or even make themselves vomit up their food. To protect the celebrity's reputation, the media may want to do so, but it is still NOT ethical for the media to use photoshop in order to enhance the beauty of the celebrity.
No, it is NOT. It is just tricking the public with edited photos of the celebrity. Soon, the public would lose trust in magazines and just stop buying them when they know that it is just the work of technology.
No, I don't think it is ethical for the media to use phothshop to enchance the appearance of a person, as this is deceiving the public. They should use the original photo of a person as it is more natural this way. This will also allow the public to know that nobody is perfect.
Photoshop is not actually wrong. Because it makes the person phtoshopped look better than what he/she actually looks like in real life. However, if the photoshopping goes too far, its counted as wrong. Because its not honest. In my opinion, natural is more beautiful.
I kinda sit on the fence because photoshop can help to do some good and fun stuff. Although photoshopping is not wrong, going too far with photoshop is not really right as the magazine producers fool the pubic to buy products like slimming pills using a photoshopped image, saying,"you can look as good as her, just buy this!"
I think that to use Photoshop is not wrong as it makes the person prettier even if we do not know them. But at the same time i think using Photoshop is wrong too as it actually lie the public with edited photos of the model.
No, I think it's not ethical for the mediato use photoshop as it would be a lie and people wil not appreciate the natural beauty of someone like Faith Hill whose 50 years old and whose looking superb at this age. Though it is wrong, I think the magazine have no choice but to use it for the sake of the buyers like us cause as human beings, it is one of our nature to see things perfectly as it can bring us hope despite the fact that it is a lie.
No, it is not right to enhance the appearance of a person using photoshops. It will be considered as deceiving the public as it is not true. If people found out that the company had deceived all of them, they will not trust it anymore and further more, they would not continue to buy any of their products. That will be even worse. So it is better to show and tell the truth although it can be not as perfect as the photoshopped one. Y. JiaLei❤ (21)
Its wrong.using photoshopped pictures and selling products using them is no different from lying.editing the picture a little might be alright but editing the picture too much can cause the picture to change drasticallly.

no , i don't think it is ethical for the media to use photoshop to enhance the appearance of a person as it just do not show how the celebrity really looks like ine pictures on the magazine . it's okay for the media to edit here and there but editing too much , makes it so 'plasticy' . looking who you really are in real life and on covers are the best :D
It's not right and neither is it wrong to use photoshop to enhance the beauty of a person. It's not right because it's making a person different, diluting those who buys the magazine to think that that was their actual look. To think that maybe if they use the products recommended, they will look like that too. Yet, thinking at another point, it is not wrong too, if photoshop were not used to perfect the celebrity's features, their flaws will all be shown, and us people, always think of celebrities with perfect features, they are flawless in our mind. Therefore, photoshop helps the celebrity to maintain their own reputation in looks and also help the magazine, especially when this particular magazine is about making one look good to be able to be sold. Thus, it just depends what we think, whether we choose to accept if photoshop is a right or wrong thing. In my case, either ways are alright to me.
I think it is not actually wrong for media to use photoshopping to enhance the appearance of a person because the media's motive is just wanting to let the picture appeal to people and maybe letting the person who is appealed to buy it.There is also no rule saying that photoshopping is an offense and if this can increase the sales or maybe enhance the person's reputation, why not???but of course if the original picture is leaked out then it would be a very big issue for the person whose picture is being photoshopped. So,there is no right or wrong by photoshopping. And anyway, the person who sees the photoshopped picture obviously knows that it is being photoshopped before because who would look so perfect???so i don't mind the media using photoshopping to enhance a person's appearance.
It is definitely not ethical. After all, many people buy magazines because of the cover model. If they find out that the models were actually photoshopped, I would think that they would feel cheated of their money.
I think photoshopping is okay because it gives a good impression to the people about the magazine but shouldn't go so far that people don't believe what they are seeing.
Kimberley Cheng (8) No, i would never think that it is ethical. It is wrong for them to deceive the readers. Readers buy the magazines sometimes because they think that the cover models are so perfect, but never would have thought that they are that perfect because of photoshop.Makeup makes a big difference to anyone who puts it on, more or less photoshop. Photoshop is the same as plastic surgery as it changes the whole person entirely, except that in real life the person is the same.
I think photoshop is used in a way to cheat people to by the magazines as they will be drawn to the magazines by the beautiful picture of the models. They should show the true picture of the model. When others find out that it is not true, they will not buy other magazines of that compony even if the picture shown on it is true.
Obviously not. It is not ethical for the media to use photoshop to enhance the appearance of a person and let others see as it would give those who see it a wrong information/opnion about the picture and would be deceiving those who admire the picture. Done by: Ng Zun Hian (36) Class:1-3
