What can we say about beauty that media presents us with? What can we do to avoid the possbility of being "Out of Control"... Write a journal in about 100 words and remember to include your name and index number at the end of the journal.
Stop pretending by saying whatever that is on the magazine is real. Now since we know how the actual person really look like, I think we should stop trying to look exactly like that till we go to the extend that we have eating disorder, plastic surgery or even thousands of money to be spent on a certain product.
Although the people in the magazines look nice, they are not real. We should not take the pictures of celebs as an example and try to look like them. Even if we REALY want to, we should try to control ourselves and not do unecesary things like going on diets or going under the knife etc.
The "beauty" that media presents us with is what I would call spurious. To avoid the possibility of being "Out of Control", we should remember that what we see is not always what we get, and that the models on magazines or actors/actresses in videos may not be as perfect as they look.
The so called beauty that we see in magazines, etc. are not real. People, after seeing the "perfect" look of celebrities, would yearn to look like them. Even if they knoe that the phtp has been phtoshopped, they do not stop to think about it. Instead, they choose to believe that the people on magazines are really that perfect in real life, which is untrue. Thus, they will go to great extents to achieve that kind of look, which includes eating disorders, and even going under knife. We must always remember that the celebrities are not as pretty/handsome as they appear to be.
This "beauty" we see on magazines are completely un-real. We should not change the appearance of someone until it is way overboard. Like if the person actually has a slightly fat stomach, do not change it until it looks as though she were born so perfect that the person would be like that forever. The magazines should also stop selling things that might not really work to prevent the public from being tricked and buying things that they do not really need or want.

The "beauty" that we see is completely fake! Nobody is perfect so we should not let photoshop control how we should look. If we were brought to look like that, then we should not fake their looks. I don't think at this stage where every image of us has to be photoshopped, we can prevent it from being "out of control". Everyone now thinks that the photoshopped them is a more presentable way so I think it is not possible! =) Nicole Lee, 10
We can avoid being out of control by not believing the pictures. To me real beauty is not the facial beauty but it is actually the personality one possesses. To me real beauties does not exist and that the media is somewhat lying to the audience. Some people out there think that what the media is presenting is true and they are willing to spend thousands of dollars on plastic surgery. But in the end the final product they want turns out to be disaster. So i think that the media should lie the public with photoshopped photos. Muhammad Luqmanul Hakim, 34
The beauty that the media present to us are all fake or a better word to say , edited . What they are trying to tell us is to buy them and they did that by photoshopping the model . How can the model show their real beauty when they are photoshopped ? It is best if we try not to believe fully in what they say especially when they are advertising beauty products :D
The pictures in the magazine covers arelike,um,changed for the "better".What they think they are achieving is increase in attraction of buyers, which is true. But what it is causing is:1.Disruption of the meaning of beauty. 2.Increase in eating disorders or diets in teenager, especially girls. So I think that we shouldnot idolise models that appear in magazine covers.
I can only say that beauty is being distorted. Beauty isn't about whether that guy is cute or handsome, whether a lady is pretty or has a good figure. Someone who is disabled in any way can be beautiful as they can be very innocent, someone who is ugly but has a kind heart, who is always helping those in need, someone who does not have a beautiful face but has lots of talents, can be BEAUTY. Beauty does not necessarily mean that one has to be perfect. As the saying goes.....NOBODY IS PERFECT.But, some wants to be perfect.
Though all those celebrities and models on the front cover look pretty and all, but, THEY ARE NOT REAL ! And it's a fact. Being 'Out of Control' can be avoided by not believing ALL of what magazines shows or portrays to you. It may just make you go crazy by eating slimming pills or even NOT EATING, especially girls or women. I don't mean not totally not believing anything inside the magazines, but some of the articles and stuff will really make go mad.
Be in control by not believing that everything is is true in the magazines. Example do not go onto a diet, applying any facial creams the magazines recommended. This could cause the problem to worsen. A model should be pretty enough to be chosen as a model. So why photoshop? Not only 'out' of a person's is considered beautiful. But also the 'insides'.
The word 'beauty', i found it unreal. Shouldn't a person be who they are and be honest? Why can't the company use the products first and see if it is useful before advertising it? All of us are humans aand we don't like being decieved. We can't be so selfish just to earn money.Photoshoot is also another thing just to make us ' beautiful' .I think that we should 'down on earth' and let nature take its course. No point being pretty on magazines and in fact it is not as pretty. Its just like decieving everyone, fans, people, including yourselves.
As our eyes might seen on the magazines, "WOW! THIS STAR IS SO BEAUTIFUL!", but please, its not EVEN REAL! And, it harms girls who would go on a diet to be like them, so, whats the use of photoshop? Even if U want a boyfriend or girlfriend, will they see how u look in a photo? NO they will not, they will look at your character! So its the best if we nerver even use photoshop at all!
The beauty that we see on the magazine covers maybe captivating and make us buy it. But when we read it we get cheated as they just say do exercise to get your body fit when the magazine cover say that you can have six packs in just a few days.
The beauty that the media presents us are not even real, they are just the fake photographs of celebrities. The propose is to only attract people to buy all those but if its not real, who would go and buy it! Its all fake, not real. If someone founds out, would it be worst?! No one will continue to buy their magazines or whatever as they felt that they will all cheat and deceived. Whats the point now?! The company cant just deceived people to earn money, will they ever feel gulity of doing it?! If they were in the people's shoes, how will they feel if they trust the product a lot and went to buy and at last, it turned out to be fake, not as real as the one being advertised? They would have consider and care for the people's feelings and not to be selfish. ♥Y. JiaLei (21) 1-3
I think we should not like really get so crazy about photos which are used in advertisements as they are usually photoshopped like too much from the real person.Like maybe if there is a photo to show you whatever whatever brand facial product or whatever, there is no harm trying the product but we should really not get so 'into' the person inside. And i think maybe these people are relying too much on photoshopping so i think if maybe the advertiser wants to get the buyers trust, they should really ask the person to use it before advertising it so she could like tell his/her own experience and when like some people try it they really came out with the same results then they would be satisfied!!!so i think not using photoshop too much is a good thing.
We must always remember that what we see in the magazine like how well this brand of slimming pills are not always true. Some work and some don't. Those photos that are "a perfect person", we must stop trying to look like them because it is impossible.
I had learnt what is photoshop. Those magazines about slimming and beauty with a very beautiful women on the cover page,it is being photoshopped.I think we should not be so naive and think that we will be flawless if we take the pills to slim down.No one is perfect. There are people who are so desperate to slim down, they went for plastic surgery and consume a lot of slimming pills.Lastly,if we want to slim down, we should control our diet and exercise regularly. stop believing stuff in mags because their perception of beauty is something sexy.some people who see the magizines think,"hey! that person looks great!how do they do that!"and right next to the picture, there words that say stuff like,"wanna look like that? Secrets are in the mag!" And that catches their attention so they spend tons to buy slimming pills or they starve themselves to look nothing like the models.beauty is in the eye of the beholder,so we should just exercise normally and leave God to his work joel ng(26)
In media, if you want to appear perfect in there, it is possible as tools in photoshops are enough to do almost anything to a picture. So, to me, beauty that media presents to us is not realistic and what we see on media is not the actual look of that person. We can avoid being “Out of control” by thinking that how ugly the actual person is and the beauty that we see is not the true but edited. The beauty that media presents to us is completly not real.We all know that a person could not be perfect. By photoshopping the models on the magazine, the magazine publishers are giving themselves a bad name as people knows that no one in this world is perfect. As we know, not all people choose to believe that the models in the magazine are being photoshopped,as those are their favourite models. This is very wrong!!Upon seeing this, they would try to go on diet and do something that is unimaginable!!Therefore, we should always remember and remind ourselves all the time that models are and may not be as perfect as they looked.
